Catershop

Catershop Ltd were awarded the contract to design, supply and install the kitchen facilities as part of the PFI contract for Suffolk Fire Services.  Working closely with the main contractor and the fire service we designed and supplied equipment to suit their needs taking into consideration that many of the kitchens had previously been of domestic quality and that the equipment had to be easy to use for both the qualified staff and fire service staff alike.  Another consideration was that many of these kitchens were moved to first floor locations and working with the main contractor we assisted in advising the best possible design to maximise the output that each site could achieve allowing for growth over the coming years.

Equipment chosen was based on the length of the warranty and durability to ensure that it would be suitable to stand the test of time, many of these kitchens had not been refurbished for 20+ years.  Also, to comply with regulations relating to DDA the fire service chose to include at least one height adjustable bench or sink within each design where possible which offered a benefit to new and existing staff.  To date Catershop Ltd have supplied complete refurbished kitchen facilities to the following sites:-

Felixstowe Fire Station
Lowestoft Fire Station
Bury St Edmunds Fire Station
Haverhill Fire Station

We hope to be involved in the new bay station currently being built in the Ipswich area later this year!
